Why solar energy?
\n<\/strong>Solar energy is the most commonly used energy to power your positive house.
\n<\/span>The reason is that solar energy is the largest source of natural energy ever known.
\nIt delivers 10.000 times the energy consumed by humans.
\nThis energy has one and only problem: clouds. Even if you have a battery system, you\u2019ll most probably end up with no energy after 3 cloudy days.
\n<\/span>You\u2019ll need to check if your location has sufficient solar exposure before you choose this energy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Solar energy has 5 main components.<\/span><\/p>\n

1) Sunshine<\/strong>
\n<\/span>First, the Sun needs to shine. No sun, no energy to capture.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) Solar panel<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The solar panel captures the energy from the Sun.<\/span>
\n<\/span>This is done within a photovoltaic process. This consists of the Sun rays interacting with the silicon cell causing electrons to move. Moving electrons create electric current. <\/span>
\n<\/span>The amount of electricity generated by a solar panel depends on 4 aspects:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. temperature (the Sun heats at different temperatures along the day)<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. panel efficiency<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. panel orientation (North, South, East or West) and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. solar panel slope (degree angle it\u2019s installed)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
